Role Title: Legal Specialist (Microsoft Office User)

Role Type: Contractor

Location: Remote

micro1 is engaging Legal Specialists (Microsoft Office Users), including attorneys, paralegals, in-house and outside counsel, compliance professionals, and other experienced legal practitioners, to contribute their expertise to an exciting customer project focused on advancing legal workflows and AI system development. In this role, you’ll apply your legal knowledge to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input.

Scope of Work

  1. Design realistic, multi-step legal prompts that reflect true industry workflows, such as contract review and drafting, legal research, case analysis, discovery support, regulatory compliance assessments, and client advisory memos.
  2. Write, review, and refine legal content used for AI training and model evaluation, ensuring accuracy, sound legal reasoning, and professional standards.
  3. Help build and score legal evaluations that test how well AI can analyze statutes, case law, contracts, and fact patterns, and identify issues, risks, and appropriate conclusions.
  4. Use Microsoft 365 tools, including Copilot, to produce legal deliverables and documentation such as memos, briefs, redlines, summaries, and trackers.
  5. Analyze legal materials and AI outputs, and turn findings into clear, actionable recommendations for both legal work product quality and AI improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Proven professional experience in a legal role (e.g., attorney, paralegal, legal counsel, contracts manager, compliance specialist, or legal operations), in practice areas such as corporate, litigation, intellectual property, employment, regulatory, or real estate.
  2. Active bar admission, paralegal certification, or equivalent legal credentials (preferred, depending on role).
  3. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365, with hands-on experience in Word (including track changes and comparison tools), Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Copilot.
  4. Excellent written and verbal English communication, including the ability to explain legal concepts clearly to both legal and non-legal audiences.
  5. Strong attention to detail, analytical rigor, and the ability to give clear, consistent feedback.
  6. Experience with AI training, data annotation, or evaluating AI-generated content.

Questions you could be asked

  1. How do you decide that one model's output is better than another's for a given task?
  2. How do you check AI-generated content before it ships?
  3. How do you keep labeling instructions consistent across a large annotation team?
  4. What's a project where you used Copilot hands-on?

Adapt your resume

  • List these exact terms on your resume: AI Evaluation, AI Content, AI Data Labeling, and Copilot. An applicant tracking system matches the wording, not the idea.
  • Attach one line of real, concrete experience to at least one of them. A tool named with nothing behind it rarely survives a human read.
