ABOUT THE TEAM

The Anduril Maritime team is a dedicated group of driven professionals passionate about advancing subsea technology and delivering innovative capabilities to meet our customers' needs. We are seeking a Maritime Technical Operations Engineer to join the Dive-XL Field Operations team. In this role, you will deploy globally in support of Anduril's Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) platforms, leveraging your technical expertise to operate our cutting-edge system in some of the most demanding and dynamic conditions.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Technical Operations & Troubleshooting:

• Deploy globally to support customer-fielded AUV operations from a variety of support vessel types.
• Lead hands-on troubleshooting, repair, operation, and maintenance of AUVs and associated equipment in the field.
• Master the intricacies of AUV operations and subsystems; serve as a product expert in both hands-on and remote support scenarios.
• Drive challenging and vague technical problems to clarity and resolution at the interface of hardware, software, and networking.

Customer Support & Integration:

• Liaise between customers, engineering, and operations for issue resolution, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Support the creation, review, and execution of test plans during at-sea testing while working with integration and test engineers.
• Provide constant feedback to the product team to rapidly mature our systems.

Training & Documentation:

• Collaborate on training development for initial customer deliveries and follow-on specialized trainings.
• Gather and integrate customer feedback into user documentation and training materials.
• Review and contribute to user documentation for all aspects of AUV operations, including user guides, mission planning guides, etc.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of experience operating at-sea robotic systems, ideally in a customer support role
• Extensive hands-on (field operations, manufacturing, or test) technical experience
• Strong aptitude for problem solving in unstructured situations at the interface of hardware, software, and networking
• Proficient with AUV maintenance, operations, troubleshooting, and repair
• Comfortable with Linux, command line interfaces, and software debugging
• Strong computer and documentation experience
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, with strong communication and customer management skills
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Able to work extended hours as required
• Willingness to travel and support customer-facing operations approximately 50-75% of the time, including significant time spent offshore on vessels of all sizes
• Currently possesses and is able to maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, ocean engineering, related discipline, or comparable experience
• Prior military or overseas contracting experience
• Skilled in deck operations using ship-based cranes, A-frames, or dedicated AUV launch/recovery systems
• Knowledgeable in electronics troubleshooting and test equipment use
• Experience in training and qualifying users or junior staff
• Experience with software development
• Expertise in integrating subsea acoustic sensors, navigation, and communication systems
• Knowledge of offshore HSE policies and best practices

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
