Your role and responsibilities

Program Overview

ABB's Discovery Program is a two-year rotational development program designed for recent graduates eager to explore diverse career paths and gain cross-functional exposure.

As a Product Marketing Discovery Trainee, you will participate in multiple rotational assignments that provide hands-on experience in marketing, product positioning, and strategic communication across ABB's product portfolios.

About This Role

In this rotation, you will focus on product marketing initiatives, with emphasis on updating and developing Battle Cards for the Electrical Distribution Systems (ELDS) portfolio. You will work closely with marketing teams to analyze market positioning, conduct competitive analysis, and enhance product positioning strategies. This is an opportunity to understand how ABB communicates value to customers and drives market awareness for critical infrastructure solutions.


The work model for the role is: hybrid

This role is contributing to the ELDS Product Marketing team in Calgary.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Develop and update Battle Cards for ELDS product lines, translating technical specifications into compelling market messages
  • Conduct competitive analysis to identify market opportunities and positioning advantages
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather insights on customer needs and market trends
  • Support the creation of marketing materials that effectively communicate ABB's value propositions
  • Participate in campaign planning and execution, from backlog management to final delivery
  • Learn marketing analytics and campaign performance tracking
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives that enhance product visibility and customer engagement
  • Assist in market research and customer engagement activities


Qualifications for the role

  • Recent graduate (2025-2027) with bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to translate complex information into clear messages
  • Analytical mindset with ability to work with data and market insights
  • Enthusiasm for learning and adaptability to work across different teams and product lines
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Collaborative approach and strong interpersonal skills
  • Interest in technology, infrastructure solutions, and sustainable energy transition
  • Willingness to contribute meaningfully to team objectives from day one
