SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today, SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of making life multiplanetary and expanding consciousness to the stars.

SpaceXSI is building Super Intelligence to help humanity understand the universe. Our teams are building the full Super Intelligence stack: from our Colossus supercomputers, to Grok models, to our suite of applications, including Grok Bot, Grok Build, Grok Imagine, Grok Voice, and X. We're creating a powerful flywheel where more compute trains better models, better models power more useful products, and what we learn from people using those products shapes what we build next.

SR. ANALYST, MONETIZATION OPERATIONS

SpaceXSI's Safety team protects free expression while ensuring our users can safely and successfully engage with our platform through robust policy enforcement. As we increasingly leverage AI-based automation, we innovate and experiment at a fast pace, striving to be a learning organization with a growth mindset.

As a Safety Operations Senior Analyst focused on Monetization Operations, you will contribute to SpaceXSI's mission by owning the most complex ads and monetization cases and  escalations on X end to end, from first triage through root cause and resolution. You will join the Monetization Integrity team in Safety Operations. You will apply ads and monetization policy with sound judgment, make and defend decisions on ad halts and rejections, and turn what you see in the escalation queue into insights that improve our policies, products, and automation, protecting the integrity of X's ads business and the trust of our advertisers and users.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own complex advertiser and monetization case work, quality and escalations end to end as the team's senior escalation point. Triage, investigate, decide, document, and close the loop on leadership, high-priority, and time-sensitive cases, including internal escalations from Sales and account teams. Peers come to you before raising issues to supervisors and Program Leads. You gather the full context first and judge what truly needs to go further.
  • Apply Monetization Integrity policy with precision and judgment across sensitive and regulated categories. Weigh the advertiser experience and a healthy ads business against user safety and platform integrity, bring well-reasoned recommendations to leadership on gray-area cases, and adapt quickly as monetization policies and workflows evolve.
  • Conduct evaluations, labeling, and quality assessments of monetization-related cases and content, and give feedback on tasks that strengthen detection and enforcement, to improve model performance and overall workflow quality.
  • Analyze operational data with querying languages (e.g., SQL), Jira, and dashboards to track queue health and KPIs, investigate anomalies, and spot emerging trends, abuse patterns, and recurring advertiser pain points. Validate the data, then turn it into concise insights, recommendations, and recurring reporting for Program Leads and Safety leadership.
  • Do root-cause analysis on cases and escalations to separate policy gaps, enforcement or automation errors, communication breakdowns, and tooling or product bugs. Drive fixes with stakeholders by reporting issues with clear, reproducible detail and turning findings into concrete product, policy, and classifier improvements.
  • Partner with supervisors to put together data-backed process improvements and workflow design, such as SOPs, templates, routing, intake, and handoffs, to cut time to resolution, reduce re-opens, and raise quality. Keep operations process documentation current, and automate repetitive work through batch actions and AI-assisted workflows.
  • Mentor and calibrate other specialists. Run case reviews, support quality reviews, share best practices, keep shift handovers clean, and give constructive feedback early and often.
  • All other duties and responsibilities as required by business need.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4+ years in ads operations, ads policy enforcement, Monetization Integrity, or Trust & Safety, including owning complex escalations end to end.
  • Experience mentoring, training, or calibrating analysts or specialists.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • In-depth knowledge of ads and monetization products, including ad formats, premium placements, promoted content, and paid partnerships, and a proven track record of successfully balancing platform safety with a healthy, sustainable monetization economy.
  • Ability to interpret and consistently apply policies with precision across monetization products, surfaces, and regulated ad categories. You make sound, defensible decisions under pressure in ambiguous, high-impact situations and know when to escalate and when to decide.
  • A thorough, independent investigator. You gather the full context, such as account, ad, and payment history, before acting, and you work from resources, guidelines, and frameworks even when the guidance is incomplete or conflicting.
  • Strong analytical skills, with hands-on root-cause analysis and data analysis using SQL, dashboards, and ticketing tools such as Jira. You are rigorous about validating data before turning it into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • A strong communicator who can write clear escalation summaries and insights, and build relationships with stakeholders and leadership.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement of processes to prioritize safety and risk mitigation.
  • An active X (including Grok) user with a deep understanding of the platform's role as a global public square.
  • Experience working in Trust and Safety or ads operations for a social media or ad-tech company, leveraging AI or other automation tools, with direct experience on ads or monetization-related workflows.
  • Expertise in red-teaming and adversarial testing of Large Language Models, and in identifying novel ads abuse vectors, with a proven ability to translate findings into concrete improvements for enforcement systems and platform robustness.
  • Experience building or running proactive detection, such as sweeps, account monitoring, or pattern-based investigations, to catch scams and policy evasion.
  • Experience with advertiser payments, billing, or chargeback operations, or with legal and regulatory escalations.
  • Experience designing or improving escalation workflows, SOPs, quality programs, or tooling at scale.
  • Experience providing human oversight and insights for scaled agentic AI operations, with abilities in prompting and evaluating LLM agents.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This role will be on-site at our Austin, TX office, requiring coverage from either Tuesday to Saturday or Sunday to Thursday shifts.
  • This role may involve exposure to sensitive or graphic content, including vulgar language, violent threats, pornography, and other graphic images.

Questions you could be asked

  1. How do you decide when an AI agent can act on its own versus asking for approval first?
  2. This role expects you to use AI tools as part of the job. Which ones have you used, and for what?
  3. Tell me about a time an AI tool got something wrong. How did you catch it?

Adapt your resume

  • List these exact terms on your resume: AI agents. An applicant tracking system matches the wording, not the idea.
  • Attach one line of real, concrete experience to at least one of them. A tool named with nothing behind it rarely survives a human read.
  • Put the AI tool in a bullet point about what you did, not just in a skills list. This role treats it as a required part of the job.
