What we are looking for

We’re looking for an experienced IP and telecom professional to lead the design, evolution and implementation of network solutions. You’ll provide technical guidance to Solutions Engineers and take end-to-end ownership of initiatives, from gathering requirements through delivery and ongoing maintenance.

What you’ll be doing

• Guide and coordinate Solutions Engineers in their technical and operational work.
• Assess and recommend solutions that meet business, regulatory, capacity and operational requirements, while considering cost, delivery timelines and Orange Group standards.
• Lead medium- to large-scale implementation projects, coordinating and coaching project teams as needed.
• Gather requirements and produce functional and technical specifications, solution designs, impact analyses and requests for proposal.
• Evaluate network performance, behaviour and market developments to recommend improvements and future solutions.
• Work with suppliers on technical scopes of work, project plans and professional services; support procurement and supplier evaluations.
• Coordinate the implementation of solutions with Operations and Integration teams.
• Act as a technical point of contact for internal teams, Orange Group, suppliers and other relevant stakeholders.
• Provide third-level support for IP networks, including incident and complex problem management.

What you need to know/have

• A degree in telecommunications, engineering, IT or a related field.
• At least five years’ experience in a telecom or IT environment.
• Strong knowledge of IP networks and protocols, and relevant network technologies in your area of expertise.
• Experience with network configuration, operations and maintenance; knowledge of service management processes and procedures is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and risk-management skills.
• Project coordination, planning and organisational skills.
• Clear communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
• A collaborative, proactive approach, including the ability to coach colleagues and negotiate with suppliers.
• Fluency in English and either French or Dutch; knowledge of the other language is an advantage.
• Flexibility to support occasional night-time maintenance or implementation work.
